On the 27th February, the legislation on the use of mobile phones while driving will change. If caught, you will face a fine of up to £60 and 3 penalty points on your licence. The change also means you can be prosecuted if you are not in proper control of your vehicle while using a hands-free system. The Volvo Accessory Bluetooth Hands-Free System will recognise your phone as soon as the vehicle is started so that you are automatically switched to hands-free. Even if you are already having a conversation, the transfer will be seamless. You will be able to hear the call through the car's audio system and your voice will be picked up by a microphone mounted in the rear-view mirror. Voice activation allows you to make or answer a call without having to take your hands off the steering wheel or you have the option to use the discrete dashboard mounted unit.
