All-new Fiat 124 Spider

The all-new Fiat 124 Spider brings the classic Italian body styling back! Inspired by the original from 1966 the model features horizontal lines that unfold from the front wing, same distinctive bodywork, LED headlamps and a hexagonal upper grille. The back is represented by a strong backbone frame, made out of robust, straight beams, that underpins the overall design, while a front sub-frame and rear cross members connect the backbone to the front and rear sections to make the structure light, safe and extremely rigid. Aluminium components include the bonnet and boot lid, front and rear bumper reinforcements, seatback bars, underbody cross-member and bulkhead panel.

The soft top can be controlled with the spring-assisted opening and closing, while the automatic window is lowering and raising when the header-rail lock levers are operated.

The interior of the new model is mixes the elements of roadster enthusiastic with the classic Italian style. The low seats are made out of unique foam shape and cut in high quality upholstery, aligning the driver perfectly with the sporty steering wheel and ideally-located pedals and gear-shifter. The seat design was made with the roof operation in mind – the narrow shoulder bolster allows the upper body to move freely, enabling unrestricted and high speed roof operation from the driver’s seat. The soft-touch materials and unique details adds value to the model, shaping it into a high-quality and elegant roadster in the tradition of its best Italian predecessors.

The Fiat 124 Spider features a 1.4-litre MultiAir Turbo engine that produces 140hp and 240Nm of torque.

The model offers a range of advanced technologies that makes the driving experience a pleasure while keeping the passengers safe and connected. The equipment includes a USB/auxiliary input, six speakers and Bluetooth connectivity as standard. The enhanced version features a seven-inch touchscreen display, DAB digital radio, two USB ports, a reversing camera and a 3D navigation system, with phone calls, music and navigation all-voice controlled.

The Fiat 124 Spider will be available from the second half of 2016 with pricing and final specifications announced at a later date.
