Matthew Hart

Office Manager
About Work Date Working for Johnsons

I started with Ventura Park in June 2003 before Johnsons take over in early 2009. In those many years I’ve had many positions from starting in Retails Sales before taking on a Finance and Controller Role and then moving to the Fleet side of the business where I have also covered several jobs, initially looked after Local Business Sales including some large local businesses and utilities, before adding our on-line sales and some broker accounts to my customer base. In 2018 I temporally ran our Group PDI and Logistics Centre while a permanent manager was recruited before taking on my current role. I can confidently say I don’t think there is an area of our operation that I have not at some point had some experience in.

About me at Johnsons

I oversee all of the day to day functions of the Central Fleet Office. My main focus being on Sales and Purchase Ledger, Vehicle deliveries through the support and deliveries team, and supporting sales via the Sales Team and the Account Managers. Before Johnsons

Like so many I started University with no clear idea of what I wanted to do and set of to study Business and Computer Studies before ending up with my first full time job being to set up a vehicles handover department for a Car Supermarket. Since then I’ve worked for Main Dealers, from family run business to some of the largest dealer groups

About Me I married my Wife, a teacher, who I had known since high school in my twenties, we have a teenage son who was born just after I started working Ventura Park.

We have always had a passion for the outdoors and now spend virtually every weekend and holiday away in our Caravan touring the UK and sometimes Europe too. We love a walk in the countryside even more so if we can find a geocache (google it) along the way, on a perfect afternoon we will also stumble across a nice country pub.

Random Fact

I have every Inspector Morse episode on DVD and have visit dozens of the areas in Oxford where it was filmed (including a guided tour)

Favourite Place

The Highland of Scotland. I’ve visited the area dozens of times, as a child and then with my own family. There is no place with more awe-inspiring scenery and some of the best driving roads in Europe, if not the world. Well you don’t work in the Motor Trade all your life without being somewhat of a car and driving enthusiast!
