A global Airbag Inflator Recall has recently been announced, with a number of automotive manufacturers affected. The fault in question poses a very high safety risk, putting you and your passengers in serious danger. On behalf of the manufacturer, we cannot apologise enough for the risk imposed, but a process is now in place to rectify this situation as soon as possible – and Johnsons Honda is here to help.
The fault and the fix
In the event of an impact where the airbag is deployed, the inflator part of the airbag may ignite in such a manner that it creates excessive internal pressure. As a result, the metal inflator casing may rupture, causing metal fragments to be propelled through the airbag and into the vehicle. This could result in a serious injury or in the worst case, death.
Fixing this issue is both simple and fast: once you bring your Honda to your nearest Johnsons Honda dealership, our manufacturer-trained technicians will install a modified inflator into the airbag module. The work will take approximately one hour to complete and will be carried out completely free of charge. We strongly advise that you get this work done as a matter of urgency.
Take immediate action
If your vehicle has been fitted with a faulty airbag, you need to find out as soon as possible. You can check if your vehicle is affected by getting in touch with Johnsons Honda or by following this link and entering your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

The lender we introduce you to and available rates will depend upon a number of factors including: the vehicle, your personal circumstances and the likelihood of a lender to accept an application based on information provided.
Lenders typically pay a commission to us for introducing you to them, calculated by reference to the vehicle model or amount you borrow. Different lenders may pay different commissions for such introductions; some lenders may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement, all of which are set by the lender concerned. If you would like to know the amount of any remuneration we have received from the finance provider, please ask us.
