Since causing a stir at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Volkswagen Up has become one of the most eagerly-awaited vehicles of recent years. Volkswagen’s designers have managed to break new ground in the city car sector with a compact, fuel efficient and environmentally friendly car that also offers style, space and comfort.

The Up comes in three versions: the Take Up, the Move Up, and the premium-version High Up. Standard features on all models include ABS, an electronic immobiliser and side head/thorax airbag systems. Higher-spec editions include an array of additional highlights, such as the Mobile Maps + More infotainment system and an automatic emergency braking system.

Attractively styled and one of the most compact vehicles around, the Volkswagen Up has 251 litres of storage space available. With the rear seats folded down, this increases to a class-leading 951 litres.

This new model comes in a choice of three 1.0-litre petrol engines. The entry-level 60PS version is complemented by a BlueMotion engine producing CO₂ emissions under 100g/km, while the more powerful 75PS emits only 108g/km and delivers combined fuel economy of 60.1mpg.
