The new Polo has officially arrived in Berlin, and it certainly doesn’t disappoint. A clearer, more powerful design than ever immediately marks the refreshed model apart from its predecessors, while holding on to key points of the iconic design.
The sixth generation incarnation of the Polo wears as sportier and more angular exterior, which hints at the power residing beneath the bonnet, from the wide choice of petrol and diesel engines, all of which promise exceptional economy.
Dr Herbert Diess, Chairman of the Volkswagen Brand Board of Management, said: ‘The Polo is a young, fresh car. It combines charisma with strong technology. No other car offers so much space for its size. This makes our Polo the number one compact car, and it will remain number one.’
Advanced features such as Adaptive Cruise Control that can be
activated up to a speeds of 130mph and Blind Spot Detection with Rear
Traffic Alert mean that the Polo is now one of the world’s most advanced
compact cars, including technology normally reserved for the Golf and
Passat class. Luxury features also make an appearance on the basic trim
level, the Trendline, with LED daytime running lights and Front Assist
area monitoring system included as standard features.
You’ll even find the latest generation of infotainment system waiting inside the comfortable interior, with displays ranging from 6.5 to 8.0 inches diagonally, dependant on trim level, each housing devices that are as sophisticated as high-end smartphones.
