HR Manager/Director

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a HR Director or HR Manager to continue working closely with the Operations Director and the rest of the Executive Board in maintaining the excellent working ethos that has developed over the last 23 years since the Company was first formed.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Operations Director and responsible for the HR team based in Redditch & Liverpool
  • Maintain and keep up to date with all HR legislation, ensuring that the Company comply with the requirements of ALL current legislation – eg Employee Rights Act, Equal Opportunities, Working Time Directive, TUPE etc
  • Maintain excellent communication between HR and all management in the Group
  • Maintain and develop the administration system and all associated work flows of HR Cascade
  • Maintain and keep updated all Company documentation (Employee handbook, job descriptions, review documents etc) stored on HR Cascade
  • Provide detailed analysis of remuneration packages for all groups of Johnsons employees
  • Produce annually all management/employee pay plans based on the budgeting process
  • Produce annual, quarterly & monthly reports and information for the Exec Board and senior management – staff retention, Top Gun leagues, Gender Pay Gap etc
  • Control and maintain the apprenticeship levy scheme
  • Provide assistance to all GM’s and Senior Managers with the full recruitment cycle (Hire to Retire)

The ideal candidate will:

  • A current CIPD level 5/7 and have a minimum of 10 years experience at this level
  • Have a good knowledge and understanding of management accounts
  • Fully conversant with Word, Excel, Powerpoint and other window applications is essential
  • Experience of the Motor Industry would be advantageous but is not a pre-requisite for applying
  • Be fully aware of all disciplinary and grievances within the Group and provide help and guidance to the managers on how to reduce the Company’s risk and exposure of any claims for unfair dismissal
  • Have the knowledge and ability to act for the Company at Employment tribunals

The successful applicant will be highly motivated, efficient and organised. This is a fulltime position includes 20 days’ annual leave, raising to 25 with longevity of service.
