Car dealers, leasing companies and manufacturers have been recognised in the shortlist for the Fleet News Awards 2023.
Arbury Motor Group, Johnsons Fleet Services, Motus Commercials, Pentagon Corporate Fleet and Trustford are among the car retail groups that could emerge as winners when the showcase fleet awards event takes place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on March 15.
Following five days of deliberation, discussion, arguments and agreement, the five judging panels (cars, vans, trucks, suppliers, fleets) sifted through a wealth of outstanding entries before coming to their conclusions under the watchful eyes of awards chairman Christopher Macgowan and auditor Brian Cooper from EY.
More than 40 businesses and people will be recognised at the ceremony, hosted by AM's sister title, which is the largest of its kind in the fleet sector.

This takes our total wins up to 3! We want to thank FleetNews for the award and we want to congratulate all of the fellow nominees!
Judges’ comments:
This fleet specialist manages the end-to-end service for its customers and has strengthened its proposition since opening a dedicated fleet facility. Fleet champions ensure a smooth, speedy aftersales service, while a robust escalation process minimises vehicle off-road times. A focus on staff mental health and well-being plays an important part in its customer satisfaction scores which are further boosted by Johnsons’ total transparency with customers and suppliers.

After winning the Fleet Dealer of the Year 2020 award by FleetNews last year, Johnsons Fleet Service went on to win the award again this year.
Johnsons were crowned the winner at the 2021 Fleet News Awards. This was the 6th time that Johnsons Fleet Services had been nominated in just as many years. No other dealership group has achieved this continued success. This success has now been topped now that they have also won the award in 2020 and again in 2021.
The most recent award was collected on the 6th July at the Fleet News Awards Summer Garden Party at Ascot Racecourse. A great way to celebrate this fantastic achievement.
In 2019 our Fleet Services team come out on top at the 2019 Automotive Management Awards.
Over the 10 years since we started our fleet offering, we have seen this service grow from zero to 8,500 units, and represent more than a quarter of all the cars we sell. Since 2013, 98.8% of our customers have given us a satisfaction score of nine or 10 out of 10 upon delivery of their vehicle.
“When a fleet customer enters our showroom, we believe they should not be treated any differently to a retail customer. Beyond the initial enquiry, however, it is then vital that they have access to the fleet expertise required to ensure they make a fully informed decision,” - Louise Baker, Head of Fleet Operations at Johnsons Fleet Services.
We also have a generous reward system that helps us to deliver the best possible experience. Further to this, we also make handovers a key part of our service – we supply each car with seat and steering wheel covers so that you get to truly be the first person to fully enjoy the car that you’ve ordered.
To extend our offering, we will also be opening a new 10-acre fleet preparation centre that will be able to handle 15,000 vehicles per year.

We are a credit broker and not a lender. We can introduce you to a limited number of lenders and their finance products, we act as their agent for this introduction. We are not an independent financial advisor; we will provide details of products available. We may advise you on the products, subject to your personal circumstances, though you are not obliged to take our advice or recommendation.
We do not charge you a fee for our services. we will typically receive commission from whichever lender we introduce you to (either a fixed fee or a fixed percentage of the amount you borrow).
Unless we consider it to be inappropriate given your personal circumstances, for certain vehicles e.g. New, our approach is to introduce you to the lender who are usually able to offer the best available package for you, taking into account interest rates, residual valuations (where applicable) and other contributions. If they are unable to make you an offer of finance, or the vehicle is not one that we would normally place with them we will introduce you to other lenders on our panel. The lender we introduce you to and available rates will depend upon a number of factors including: the vehicle, your personal circumstances and the likelihood of a lender to accept an application based on information provided.
Lenders typically pay a commission to us for introducing you to them, calculated by reference to the vehicle model or amount you borrow. Different lenders may pay different commissions for such introductions; some lenders may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement, all of which are set by the lender concerned. If you would like to know the amount of any remuneration we have received from the finance provider, please ask us.
