Broker Sales
about work Date started working for Johnsons: I joined what was then Ventura Park Volkswagen in back in 2000.

About me at Johnsons: My original role was as Fleet Sales Executive dealing with local businesses. I now work alongside Craig and Ryan, in our ‘Broker Specialist’ team, purely looking after our broker network, providing them with quotations, checking availability and answering day to day enquiries – and of course orders!

About me before Johnsons: I was educated at ‘King Edwards Grammar School Rosehill’ in Birmingham. I left there to work for ‘Boots the Chemists’ to study and qualify as a ‘Pharmacy Technician’. Then late in 1988, I ventured into sales, becoming a ‘Field Sales Representative’ for our local newspaper, the Sutton Coldfield Observer. Selling space was never the easiest job in the world, but at the time I loved it, being free to manage myself as long as I hit my targets, which I always did. I moved around within the group, until October 2000, when as one of my customers, Ventura Park offered me a position in Fleet Sales. It was perfect timing as the newspaper industry was changing, and the best decision I ever made.

about me A bit about me: I am married to Kev, to whom I’ve been married since June 1989. We met in 1985 and married 4 years to the day later. He’s my best friend, and together we love our holidays, going abroad as much as we can. Socially, we venture to our local curry house almost every Friday night, where we meet up with friends. I love cooking, especially when I can take advantage of the weather and firing up the bbq. But I just love being outside, pottering around my garden and relaxing with a glass of wine on an evening after work. My Mum and Uncle introduced me to rock music in my very early teens, something that became a bit of an obsession, especially where David Coverdale and Whitesnake were concerned. Nothing has really changed and Planet Rock is always playing in my car!

Random Fact: Whilst I was working at the Sutton Coldfield Observer, I escorted Bev Callard (Coronation Street’s Liz MacDonald) on a meet the readers day. We ended up at a local pizza house putting the world right until the early hours!

Favourite Place: The Caribbean, especially Dickenson Bay in Antigua. I just love all the islands we have visited and the people are amazing.
