The popular Honda Civic has undergone a facelift. The new look Honda Civic has upped its game, providing strong competition for the Volkswagen Golf and Ford Focus.
Design updates for the hatchback and Tourer include larger, sportier air vents and bolder, sweeping headlights. The bumpers, rear diffuser and side skirts have been redesigned, and all models come with alloy wheels.
Entry-level S trim models feature automatic headlights and heat mirrors, while SE models get dual-zone climate control and parking sensors. The hatchback is available in a new Sport trim, featuring a rear spoiler and 17-inch alloy wheels. SR models get heated front seats and a glass roof, while Ex Plus models boast keyless entry and LED headlights.
Inside the new Honda Civic, the controls are conveniently and logically placed on a smart dashboard finished in black. New upholstery gives the interior a fresh look and chrome door handles add the finishing touch.
Honda Connect, a new infotainment system, is Android-powered with a touchscreen boasting smartphone capabilities. DAB radio, Bluetooth ®, a rear-view mirror and web-browsing come as standard, and satellite navigation is an optional extra.
The engine options remain the same, including a 1.4-litre petrol in 99bhp or 1.8-litre which blasts from 0-60mph in 9.1 seconds. The 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel is exempt from road tax and delivers 78.5mpg. There's also a 1.4-litre i-VTEC diesel available in the hatchback. Included in the new Civic range is the City Brake Active system, which helps to prevent low-speed crashes by automatically applying the brakes if it senses an imminent collision.
The new Honda Civic range is due to land in our showroom in the spring of 2015, starting from £15,795.
