The Cleaner Volkswagen Touran

Complete with new styling inside and out, and a range of efficient new engines starting from £17,585 first deliveries should arrive 22nd September.

Somewhat restyled - both to make it appear lower and to suggest a family connection with the Polo and the forthcoming Sharan - the Touran is available with the second generation of Park Assist, which requires less space than the first generation did and also allows the car to be parked at 90 degrees to the kerb.

There are three trim levels (S, SE and Sport) and a familiar line-up of engines which also includes, for the first time in the Touran, the 104bhp 1.2 TSI turbo petrol engine which comes close to matching the 1.6 turbo diesel for fuel economy and CO2 emissions, and is £1000 cheaper to buy in the first place.

Prices for the new range start at £17,585 for the 1.2 TSI S and extend to £25,535 for the 2.0 TDI diesel Sport with DSG transmission.
