Abarth 695 Biposto Plays Lead Role at Goodwood Festival of Speed

Roaring through the Sussex countryside during the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2014 was the Abarth 695 Biposto. The vehicle deemed the “most Abarth of all Abarths” effortlessly tackled the Goodwood Hillclimb, proving its technical capabilities to be unsurpassed.

The Abarth 695 Biposto previously debuted in the Gumball 3000 supercar rally, where it earned the right to wear the #1 on its side. And in the two-kilometre climb around the Goodwood Estate, the 995kg car and its powerful 190bhp 1.4-litre T-jet engine once again stole the show. Its best-in-class weight-power ratio of 5.2kg/bhp and 62mph acceleration potential of 5.9 seconds makes it the fastest front-wheel drive saloon on the market.

For those Festival goers less familiar with the Abarth’s supercar powers, there will be no doubt in their minds that the Italian automaker knows how to transfer the racing spirit to the road. Many of the 695 Biposto’s features come straight from the track car, like its Akrapovik exhaust system, Extreme Shox adjustable shock absorbers, MXL data logger, four-point Sabelt seatbelts, Brembo brakes and Poggipolini rear titanium anti-roll bar. This is a car that’s as safe as it is exhilarating.

And it’s great to look at, too. Building on the 595 model options, Abarth adds Pista Grey, Beige Rally, Trofeo Grey and Cordolo Red to the many available colour combinations. As always, drivers can also choose between the hot hatch or cabrio configuration.
