Durability, versatility and off-road capability are all synonymous with the Jeep Wrangler. And the good news is that the American company has announced that a revived version of this most iconic vehicle is set to come to the UK later this year.
The Wrangler makes up Jeep’s UK line-up along with the Avenger, Renegade, Compass, and the range-topping Grand Cherokee. Building on a great heritage to rightfully stake its claim as one of the most competent off-road vehicles you can buy, this retro 4x4 is a firm favourite – thanks to its design in tackling dirt tracks and trails.
The facelift sees the Wrangler get a new grille design while retaining its trademark seven vertical slots. There are 10 new wheel options, between 17 and 20 inches in size, and for the keen off-roaders, tyre sizes range from 32 to 35 inches. Jeep confirm there are multiple ‘open-air freedom’ options, with a soft top, two hard tops and a one-touch powered top.
A rear-view camera has become a standard fit, and sports models gain forward-collision warning and adaptive cruise control along with blind-spot and pedestrian-crossing warning systems. Now enhanced with an inner refinement and state-of-the-art technology, Jeep have added extra sound deadening, thicker carpet and acoustic front glass – making the legendary Wrangler as comfortable on the road as off.
The price tag is set to be an increase on the current £60,080 when the refined version launches later this year. What you can be sure of is that the Jeep Wrangler will always be where attractiveness meets adventure and premium meets practical.
