New York International Auto Show revealed the 2017 Toyota GT86 that will go on sale at the end of the year. The model features eye catching stylish elements, including an amplified central air intake, which serves to accentuate the coupe’s low and wide stance. The rear also comes with a redesigned modern bumper, fog light housing and LED headlamps and turn indicators, and there new-design alloy wheels with twisted spokes.
The interior comes with new combination leather and Alcantara upholstery and Alcantara-wrapped instrument panel options. The door trims are made out of soft-touch, suede-effect material and a new cloth upholstery will be available with contrast silver stitching. The sporty steering wheel comes with integrated controls and an 86 logo on the centre boss. The credentials as a definitive drive’s car are sustained by suspension changes, with new shock absorber tuning and spring rates delivering easier control and increased agility. The powertrain is still represented by a front-mounted, naturally aspirated 2.0-litre “boxer” engine driving the rear wheels.
