Toyota to expand the Corolla range in 2022

Ready to make its debut at the Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham in May 2022, Toyota have announced a hybrid commercial van version of the successful Corolla – the first fully hybrid electric van in its class.

Using the same self-charging technology as the Corolla hatchback and Touring Sports passenger models, the Japanese marque has always been renowned for its advanced hybrid power and estimates a WLTP combined cycle fuel economy of 55.3 – 62.7mpg with 102-115g/km CO 2 emissions. The estimated towing capacity will be 750kg – perfect for completing a range of everyday jobs with ease.

This new model will join the Proace, Proace City, Land Cruiser Commercial and Toyota Hilux as part of Toyota’s CV line-up – and will become the latest option in their hybrid/electric range that also includes the Proace Electric medium van and Proace City Electric compact van (released later this year). Based on the Corolla Touring Sports 1.8 hybrid model, a single version will be released initially, and specifications will be announced when order books open. Indicative pricing, subject to confirmation, is £22,134.
