Fiat 500 Updated with New Display and Automatic Transmission

At the 2014 Geneva International Motor Show, Fiat announced that its European 500 model would be updated, including a new dashboard display. These changes will now also be made to the brand’s US models.

The 500 will now come with a seven-inch high-definition TFT instrument display as standard. This will allow motorists to track important data such as the current vehicle speed, fuel level, fuel consumption, and the car's remaining range. There is also an option to display information from the onboard infotainment system to the panel, as well as information from a rear parking sensor if this has been chosen as a vehicle extra.

Automatic transmission was previously only available to the Fiat 500's manual vehicles. The new upgrade now allows the 500 Turbo, 500 Abarth, and 500 Abarth Cabrio models to be fitted with a six-speed automatic transmission from Aisin. Also available are several paint colours that are new for 2015, which include Giallo Moderna Perla (modern pearl yellow), Laser Blu (bright metallic blue) and Billet Argento (billet silver).
