The previous Ibiza received a ringing endorsement from crash-test specialists, Euro NCAP, who awarded it a maximum five-star rating. There is no reason to expect anything less with the new Ibiza, which comes with new safety tech to make the car as secure as possible. New features include Adaptive Cruise Control and Tiredness Recognition System, and each grade now also features front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera and six airbags.

The new Ibiza boasts a sturdily constructed cabin which is furnished with easy-on-the-eye fittings, such as a dashboard whose hue matches the colour you choose for the vehicle’s body. In fact, along with the centre console, the dashboard has been completely redesigned.

The interior also benefits from chrome finishes and smart contrast stitching detail that adorns, for example, the steering wheel. Overall, there is a simple, uncluttered aesthetic to the cabin, with all essential controls and switches intuitively fashioned and easy to locate.

Your world, your way

All hail the new SEAT Ibiza

The city of Barcelona may be synonymous with a certain all-conquering football team but just as importantly it is also home to a globally recognised and admired car manufacturer. SEAT has produced many fine vehicles over the years, including the Ibiza, which has now achieved its fifth glorious incarnation.

The new Ibiza benefits from an invigorating new look, an injection of fresh technology and much more besides. The car’s trendy good looks are still very much apparent, this time enhanced by contemporary curves and a vivacious vibe. The vehicle is also taller and wider than ever, and all models are now fitted with five doors as standard, providing easy access to the car’s more expansive cabin.

You can take the exciting new Ibiza for a test drive today, and is available in S, SE, FR and XCELLENCE trim levels.

Performing perfectly

The new Ibiza comes with three engine options, including a 1.0-litre petrol unit, which is fitted as standard. Attached to a five-speed manual gearbox, this produces 94bhp (or 113bhp) and is expected to return up to 60.1mpg and a 106g/km CO2 emission figure. Also available is a 1.6-litre diesel engine that produces 79bhp (or 94bhp).

Later this year, a 1.5-litre petrol engine will be added to the roster. This four-cylinder unit produces 148bhp and is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. Seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission will also be available as an option.

Seat Ibiza Heartbeat Button

Bigger and better than before

The 2017 Ibiza utilises Volkswagen’s MQB platform which means it is essentially a brand-new model. It features the crisp design that characterised earlier editions but is 87mm wider and 95mm longer than before.

Consequently, the cabin has expanded in size. Each smartly upholstered seat is larger too and delivers greater comfort than ever. As well as improved passenger space, there is also room for a larger boot, which now holds 355 litres (a 60-litre increase) and incorporates a flexible double floor.

XCELLENCE trims are fitted with 17-inch dynamic alloy wheels, while performance-driven FR trims also feature a panoramic sunroof and luxurious black-upholstered seats, embellished with bespoke stitching. XCELLENCE grades, meanwhile, also feature ambient LED cabin lighting.
