We’re very pleased to see the impressive and stylish Volvo XC40 has gained the top rating in its recent NCAP test. This therefore means the XC40 joins its larger counterparts in the XC60 and XC90 as being one of the safest cars available.
The 2018 testing has become tougher than ever before with new, demanding challenges placed on safety technologies within the car, which includes testing the cyclist detection with auto-brake and emergency lane-keeping systems.
To support its claims as the safest car currently on sale, this model
has so far received the highest safety score out of all cars tested on
the new regime and achieved one of the highest Adult Occupant Protection
scores of 97% seen in the past three years.
“This is yet another benchmark car from Volvo. The XC40 is built on Volvo’s new small vehicle platform, but there are no signs of compromise on safety, despite the challenges this segment presents to delivering optimal crash protection,” said Thatcham’s Director of Research, Matthew Avery.
Malin Ekholm, Head of the Volvo Cars Safety Centre, also stated: “The new XC40 is one of the safest cars on the market. It comes as standard with the largest offering of safety technology of any small SUVs, helping drivers detect and avoid collisions, remain safely in their lane and reduce the impact of accidentally running off the road.”

The lender we introduce you to and available rates will depend upon a number of factors including: the vehicle, your personal circumstances and the likelihood of a lender to accept an application based on information provided.
Lenders typically pay a commission to us for introducing you to them, calculated by reference to the vehicle model or amount you borrow. Different lenders may pay different commissions for such introductions; some lenders may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement, all of which are set by the lender concerned. If you would like to know the amount of any remuneration we have received from the finance provider, please ask us.
