Introducing the all-new Hyundai Tucson

At Johnsons, we were thrilled to see the unveiling of the all-new Hyundai Tucson last week. This fourth generation of the brand’s best-selling SUV boasts an ambitious new look, an array of state-of the-art technology, and the most electrified powertrain line-up in its class. Let’s take a closer look…

The most electrified powertrain line-up

This exciting compact SUV storms onto the scene with the most electrified powertrain line-up in the segment, with hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and 48-volt mild-hybrid options available. It also offers a range of gasoline and diesel options, meaning this dynamic model will suit every driver.

The hybrid version consists of the new 1.6-litre T-GDi Smartstream engine and a 44.2 kW electric motor, with a 1.49 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery. The system is the most powerful in the Tucson’s powertrain line-up, with a combined output of 230PS, meaning it offers low emissions without compromising on driving fun.

A true SUV

The all-new Tucson features a bigger and wider body than its predecessor. Its muscular stance combines sharp angles and dynamic proportions with rich surfaces, ensuring a progressive look that builds on the model’s rugged SUV heritage.

The fourth-gen Tucson consolidates its SUV-with-4x4 credentials with its new Terrain Mode selector, which provides even more enjoyment for drivers. Available on the hybrid version with automatic transmission, this feature utilises Hyundai’s signature HTRAC four-wheel drive technology, which enables agile handling and better torque application depending on wheel grip and vehicle speed. It also boasts three new terrain modes – Mud, Sand and Snow.

Sensuous Sportiness

The all-new Tucson is the first fully-changed Hyundai SUV to be developed with the marque’s new ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design identity, a direction that brings an emotional touch to Hyundai vehicles. What’s more, prominent geometric patterns known as “parametric jewels” appear throughout the design, giving it a progressive character. The most prominent display of these parametric jewels is on the vehicle’s front grille – when the Daytime Running Lights are switched on, the dark chrome appearance of the grille transforms into eye-catching jewel-like shapes.

Take your seat

The all-new Tucson is more spacious than ever before, giving occupants an open interior space that guarantees comfort and roominess usually reserved for larger models. The cabin is packed with a host of state-of-the-art human-oriented technology features to provide a fully customisable digital experience. The new 10.25-inch AVN-T screen fills the centre of the vehicle. You will also find the latest version of Hyundai’s state-of-the-art Bluelink connected car services, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and best-in-class advanced driver-assistance systems.
