What is Service Activated Warranty?

Service Activated Warranty is a product available for customers of Suzuki vehicles aged between 3 to 6 years. To qualify, the customer must have a Suzuki scheduled service with an authorised Suzuki Service Partner, pay to repair anything that needs repairing and leave with a warranty that matches their service interval. Suzuki Service Activated Warranty has been designed to help protect you against the costs incurred in the event of an electrical or mechanical failure of a covered component of the covered vehicle occurring within the area of cover.

This cover is designed to take a vehicle from when the 3-year New Vehicle, Suzuki Approved Used Vehicle, Suzuki Extended Warranty or Service Activated Warranty expires until the 7-year/100,000 miles (whichever comes first) limit is reached.

  • Example 1: A customer may come in early for their Service at 2 years 9 months old with 3 months New Car Warranty remaining. We need to be able to cover that vehicle, so you can add that onto the plan. The car will then have a 3+9 warranty - 3 months new vehicle warranty, followed by 9 months ‘Service Activated Warranty’ - meaning the customer has a warranty throughout their service interval.
  • Example 2: A customer comes in for Service with 2 months of existing Suzuki Approved Used Vehicle Warranty in place. We enrol the customer, and they would get a 2+10 month warranty – 2 months approved used topped up by 10 months ‘Service Activated Warranty’.
  • Example 3: A customer with a six-and-a-half-year-old car comes in for Service. You carry out a scheduled Service and the customer will get 6 month ‘Service Activated Warranty’ to cover them up to the maximum period of 7 years.

If you fail to have the covered vehicle serviced correctly in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications during the Period of Service Activated Warranty, or you are unable to produce proof of such servicing if we request it, then this may invalidate the Service Activated Warranty or we will not pay all or any part of a claim you make.

Who is it for?

To be eligible for cover the vehicle must be a UK-supplied vehicle, with the customer residing in the UK and using the covered vehicle for their own personal leisure use only and not for any business purposes (except for travel to and from a normal place of work for private retail customers). The vehicle must be road legal with tax and MOT.

You must check that all previous services have been carried out according to the Suzuki Service Schedule. If the vehicle is missing a service, this must be rectified with any missing service items, and then complete a Vehicle Health Check.

Service Activated Warranty covers the vehicle. If a covered vehicle is sold, the remaining cover is transferrable to the new owner, but cannot be transferred to another vehicle. The new owner must contact their nearest Suzuki Service Partner to register their details.

If a customer has their car serviced whilst in an existing ‘New Car’, ‘Approved Used’, ‘Suzuki Extended Warranty’ or ‘Service Activated Warranty’ then they would have a continuation of cover. This means that the Service activated runs seamlessly from the end of their existing cover to their service-activated cover.

How does the customer activate their policy?

You will be able to activate their policy via the customer portal. On the PDF that was generated in Dealer Warranty, there is a QR code and URL link that takes you to our CRM Portal. To activate the policy, you must register with us on the CRM portal within 7 days. From here, you enter their vehicle registration number and unique 8-digit code.

After you have entered your details, the policy is then activated, and you will receive an email with a copy of the Terms and Conditions as well as the cover start and end dates.

Servicing Requirements for Suzuki

Servicing must be carried out in accordance with vehicle manufacturer recommendations. Genuine Suzuki parts must be used. Oils and other fluids must be of correct specification and supplied by a Suzuki Service Partner. Failure to comply with this condition will result in a Service Activated Warranty claim being rejected.

Servicing Requirements for All Covered Vehicles

We will allow a maximum of 250 miles or 14 days in excess of the recommended service intervals, whichever occurs first, to qualify for continuation of cover. Outside of these parameters warranty cover will begin 30 days from the date the scheduled service has been completed. Please ensure that the Suzuki Service Partner completes the service record for the covered vehicle and that you keep all service receipts as proof of servicing.

Eligibility Criteria

The Suzuki Service Activated Warranty is a warranty which, subject to these terms, is activated on completion of the last scheduled service by a Suzuki Service Partner. By maintaining the vehicle’s recommended service schedule, customers can gain an additional 12 months or 9,000/12,500* miles (whichever occurs first) Service Activated Warranty from the date of each service, until the 7-year/100,000 miles (whichever occurs first) limit is reached. Please note the delay in Continuation of cover for a Lapsed Customer. If you are a Lapsed Customer, the Service Activated Warranty will begin 30 days from the date the Suzuki Service Partner scheduled service has been completed. The 7-year/100,000 miles (whichever occurs first) limit runs from the date of first registration.

Only Suzuki models originally sold through UK Suzuki authorised dealers qualify for the Suzuki Activated Warranty and customers must be residing in the UK.

All repairs must be carried out by a Suzuki Service Partner.

Customers must register details on the Suzuki Website portal using a unique reference code generated by the Suzuki Service Partner at time of service.

All components covered by this policy must be free from defect at time of policy activation (date of service).

*Mileage intervals as per your warranty & service booklet. If you have any queries in relation to your eligibility for the Suzuki Service Activated Warranty, or how it will apply to your vehicle, please contact your local Suzuki Service Partner.
