Taking the stress out of driving

Hyundai has provided a range of features which aim to make your journeys easier. An electric parking brake on the Premium and Premium SE editions is simple to operate and has the added benefit of taking up far less space than a conventional handbrake. Automatic headlights mean you don’t need to think about switching lights on before it gets dark, and wipers also switch on automatically when they detect rain. Parking is straightforward thanks to rear sensors and a rear view camera in the SE and SE Nav editions, with front sensors added for the Premium trims.

Focus on safety

The Hyundai i30 has an extensive list of safety features, including lane departure warning system with lane keep assist technology, hill-start assist, and emergency stop signal. Autonomous emergency braking uses a combination of camera and radar systems to scan for potential hazards ahead, such as pedestrians stepping out into the road, and activates emergency braking if required. The driver attention alert function monitors your movements and triggers an alert if signs of fatigue are detected. The Premium and Premium SE editions benefit from some additional safety features such as blind spot detection and rear cross traffic alert.

Contemporary styling for the new generation

With its smart restyled exterior, spacious cabin and impressive equipment inventory, the new generation Hyundai i30 is one of the strongest contenders in the family hatchback class. The car’s sleek profile is complemented by the distinctive front grille and the angular rear design. The high-gloss black rear spoiler adds to the sporty look as well as enhancing fuel efficiency. All models have alloy wheels, ranging in size from 15-inches to 17-inches, depending on the trim level. You have five trim levels to choose from for the Hyundai i30: S, SE, SE Nav, Premium and the range-topping Premium SE. Body-coloured exterior door handles are fitted on all except the Premium editions which get chrome-effect handles.

Paint options range from subtle choices such as White Sand and Stargazing Blue to vibrant shades, including Engine Red, Arla Blue and Intense Copper.

Engines and performance

There are three engine types to choose from for the Hyundai i30 – a 1.0-litre T-GDi and a 1.4-litre T-GDi turbocharged petrol engine, and a 1.6-litre CRDi diesel edition. If you want to keep CO2 emissions to a minimum, this is the engine to choose, with just 99g/km being released. Intelligent stop and go technology helps to reduce both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The 1.0-litre petrol engine is available with six-speed manual gearbox only. For the 1.4-litre T-GDi and 1.6-litre CRDi you can choose between six-speed manual and seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

On the Inside

The Hyundai i30 is an ideal family car, with plenty of headroom and legroom at all seats. Boot space is more generous than many of the i30’s competitors, at 395 litres. Rear seats can quickly be folded down with a one-touch mechanism, creating a larger boot space when needed.  Manual air conditioning is fitted on the S, SE and SE Nav trims, while higher trims have an upgrade to dual-zone climate control.

Front seats are heated for extra comfort in the Premium and Premium SE editions, and have a 10-way electric adjustment feature to ensure you are sitting comfortably for your journey. Plush fabric is available in a choice of black or grey and black, with leather seat facings provided on the Premium SE edition.
