Taking the stress out of driving
Hyundai has provided a range of features which aim to make your journeys easier. An electric parking brake on the Premium and Premium SE editions is simple to operate and has the added benefit of taking up far less space than a conventional handbrake. Automatic headlights mean you don’t need to think about switching lights on before it gets dark, and wipers also switch on automatically when they detect rain. Parking is straightforward thanks to rear sensors and a rear view camera in the SE and SE Nav editions, with front sensors added for the Premium trims.
Focus on safety
The Hyundai i30 has an extensive list of safety features, including lane departure warning system with lane keep assist technology, hill-start assist, and emergency stop signal. Autonomous emergency braking uses a combination of camera and radar systems to scan for potential hazards ahead, such as pedestrians stepping out into the road, and activates emergency braking if required. The driver attention alert function monitors your movements and triggers an alert if signs of fatigue are detected. The Premium and Premium SE editions benefit from some additional safety features such as blind spot detection and rear cross traffic alert.
All models have Bluetooth® connectivity, DAB radio, a six-speaker audio system and steering wheel-mounted controls for music, phone and cruise control. The SE trim is fitted with a five-inch touchscreen media centre, while an upgrade to the SE Nav trim and above gets you an eight-inch touchscreen sat nav system with access to Live Services, Mapcare and the Traffic Management Channel included. Speed camera alerts can be set up to give you advance warning to check your speed. A USB socket is fitted in the centre console on all models, and the SE Nav edition and up also have a wireless charging pad for your smartphone.
