Practical and Appealing
The Fiesta is available in three and five-door body styles. The latter, naturally, is the more practical option, allowing easy access for rear-compartment passengers. Nevertheless, the vehicle’s distinctly sporty qualities are emphasised further by models that are fitted with three doors. All variants come with a range of body-coloured fixtures, such as bumpers, a smart-looking rear spoiler and wing mirrors. The latter are power-operated and heated and incorporate indicator lights too. Zetec trim levels and above feature lightweight and stylish alloy wheels that range from 15 inches to 17 inches.

Plenty of Tech
All models come with an infotainment screen, which increase in size and sophistication as the trim levels progress. A 4.2-inch display is standard with entry-level Style grades, as are a six-speaker sound system and USB and AUX inputs – and Bluetooth connectivity, which enables audio streaming from compatible smartphones. Ford MyKey is another standard inclusion, a technology that encourages sensible driving habits. It’s ideal for first-time drivers, or a family member who has been allowed use of the car. MyKey actively promotes the use of seatbelts, for example, and can be programmed to set a safe maximum speed.

Safe as Houses
The Fiesta is an exceptionally safe car to travel in. For one thing, it boasts a maximum five-star rating, as awarded by crash-test specialists Euro NCAP. A range of driver aids are featured as standard, including Lane-keeping Assist (LKA), which warns of unintentional deviation from the intended lane. LKA automatically steers the car back on course if the driver fails to react. A suite of airbags, seatbelt reminders and seatbelt force-limiters and pre-tensioners are among an array of passive protective features that are included to keep occupants as safe as possible. Thanks to the presence of Bluetooth, the driver is able to make and receive hands-free phone calls too.
