Working for Skoda for over a decade means that the brand is very close to my heart. During this time I’ve had the pleasure to serve generations of loyal Skoda customers, some of whom we still have the privilege to deal with today.

David Gardner - Brand Manager

My career in the Motor Trade began here at Skoda Liverpool in August 2007, I have progressed from washing used cars on the forecourt , through to Sales Executive, to becoming a Sales Manager in 2016 and most recently to the position of Brand Manager. This journey reflects my commitment to hard work and dedication within the automotive industry. Throughout my tenure, I have developed a strong passion for delivering exceptional customer service and fostering long-lasting relationships with both customers and colleagues. My focus on creating a positive and supportive environment has been instrumental in driving sales success and enhancing customer satisfaction at the dealership.

In my spare time I enjoy attending Liverpool home games and going on holiday with my wife and daughter.

Hi I'm Chris, I joined Skoda Liverpool in September 2018 after a long time working various roles in retail shops. My spare time is now managed by my two young daughters who have a better social life than me and my wife. Alongside that, I'm a huge football and Everton fan (not something to shout about I know).

Brian Johnson - Sales Executive

I began my journey in the motor industry in 1999, joining the Robert Smith Group’s Road Range operation, a long-standing Mercedes-Benz franchise. In 2005 that business was acquired by Inchcape PLC. The operation was subsequently rebranded Mercedes‑Benz of Liverpool, where I continued to progress until 2017. Seeking a fresh challenge, I moved to the Alex Lawrie Škoda team, which soon became Johnsons Škoda. After two rewarding years, my partner (now wife) and I relocated to the Fylde Coast. The COVID‑19 pandemic prompted a brief sabbatical, but my passion for the industry brought me back—this time with the Lloyd Group, where I spent four years in a hybrid business manager/sales executive role specialising in prestigious used cars. Finally, in true full‑circle fashion, I returned to Liverpool to rejoin Johnsons Škoda on 14 April—finding once again a professional home in the city I love.

Sam Lesbirel - Retail Manager

Hi, I’m Sam. After spending over a decade in sales and marketing roles within the motor trade, I joined the team at Škoda Liverpool in June 2023. Since then, I’ve been fortunate to progress into the Retail Manager role (April 2025), where I’m focused on delivering the best possible experience for our customers.

Outside the showroom, most of my free time is happily taken up by my 6-year-old daughter. When I do get a moment to myself, I love to travel — from UK staycations to adventures across Asia and America — catch live music (with a pretty eclectic taste), and cheer on Liverpool FC whenever I can.

I joined Johnson’s ŠKODA Wigan in February 2025 as a Sales Executive, bringing with me over a decade of experience with Skoda and the Volkswagen brand. I have had varied roles including finance manager to sales manager.

Outside of work I have two children that take up most of my spare time but love to go watch and play rugby when I can.

Naomi Thompson - Sales Executive

Hi, I’m Naomi. I joined Skoda Wigan in May 2025 as a Trainee Sales Executive. I’m new to the motor trade leaving healthcare and my Head Dental Nurse role behind! I’m really enjoying learning and building my skills everyday. I love engaging with customers, helping them find the right car to suit them, building my product knowledge and being a part of a great team. Outside of work, I love being outdoors whether that’s a hike, paddle boarding, a sunny holiday or enjoying music events with the girls!

Peter Newbury – Retail Manager
With over a decade of experience in retail, Peter brings a customer-first mindset to every aspect of his role. As Retail Manager, Peter oversees the day-to-day running of the sales department ensuring a seamless and engaging experience across our Skoda and Seat showrooms for our customers.

Known for his hands-on approach and eye for detail, Peter is passionate about fostering a positive team culture and making sure all of our customers receive the very best service from our team.

Outside of work, Peter is a family man and an advocate for mentoring young people in football and rugby.

​Dean Rowley – Sales Executive​

I became part of the Škoda Wigan team in January 2025, bringing with me over ten years of experience across the VW Group and 7 years with Johnsons. During my career, I’ve worked in a variety of positions, from accredited Sales Manager to Sales Executive, which has given me a well-rounded understanding of the motor trade. Now, as a Sales Executive, I’m thoroughly enjoying being back on the front line where I get to combine my knowledge with my genuine passion for people. What I love most about my role is the interaction with customers. Every day brings new conversations and new opportunities to build relationships which is something I really enjoy doing.

Outside of the showroom, family life is everything to me. I’m a proud dad, and any free time I get is usually spent making memories with her. Beyond that, football is my second love cheering on Aston Villa from the sidelines.

Connor Murray - Retail Manager​

I've been involved with cars in some form or fashion for 15 years. The majority of which, racing and rallying. In recent years I moved into a sales role with Johnsons Skoda and am now the Retail Manager at Skoda Wolverhampton. I enjoy working and growing with the team of people around me and providing good customer service to our customers. Outside of work I'm big into my Motorsport and Golf! Originally from the Emerald Isle but have lived on the mainland for over 10 years now. Haven't lost the accent!​

Tyresse Reid

Whilst at college, got my first job stacking shelves in a supermarket. Then a year later we went into the first COVID lockdown, working pretty much non stop throughout the pandemic. Then as the world started to go back to normal, realised I needed a change, a new challenge. I love cars and thought I must be able to sell them. And here we are 3 years later enjoying every day of it.

I've been a sales executive for just over 2 years in the VAG group. In my spare time I enjoy MMA training, particularly Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai, but I am partial to a round of Golf or two when I get time.
