At Johnsons we were excited to see ŠKODA announce three new versions of the OCTAVIA vRS, including a plug-in hybrid model, which will be first on the scene.
The first electrified RS (Rally Sport) model from ŠKODA comes exclusively with an automatic transmission. This plug-in hybrid version of the fourth-generation OCTAVIA vRS will have ‘iV’ at the end, signifying its connection to ŠKODA’s new sub-brand, iV, which was launched as part of its commitment to make electrified powertrains a quarter of its sales by 2025. The OCTAVIA vRS iV comes hot on the heels of the all-electric ŠKODA CITIGOe iV and the ŠKODA SUPERB iV Plug-in Hybrid.
The ŠKODA OCTAVIA vRS is set to arrive in the UK this autumn in hatchback and estate versions. The iV variant will come in the Ambition and Style trims.
Unplug and play
20 years after the debut of the first OCTAVIA RS, it is perhaps only right that it’s ŠKODA’s first performance model to feature a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The OCTAVIA RS iV will come fitted with a 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine and an 85-kW electric motor, delivering a combined power output of 245 PS, driving the vRS from 0-62mph in 7.3 seconds. The model’s electric-only range is 37 miles (WLTP), which ŠKODA says should be more than enough for your daily commute. The model’s CO2 emissions are approximately 30 g/km in the WLTP cycle, to comply with the EU6d emissions standard.
Dynamic sporty style
The vRS has established itself as the top-of-the-range variant of the OCTAVIA, and the latest model is no different. It boasts typical vRS design cues, including black details on the bodywork, horizontal LED fog lights, black 18-inch alloy wheels (with 19-inch set available), and brake callipers in RS-typical red. The hatchback sports a black RS rear spoiler, while with the estate, the roof spoiler matches the chassis colour.
The hot seat
Take your rightful place behind the wheel to discover a sporty black interior, with a three-spoke leather multifunction sports steering wheel bearing a vRS logo, and decorative strips in an RS-look and pedals with an aluminium design round off the sporty impression.
Choose from the standard front sports seats upholstered in black fabric and the optional Ergo seats with Alcantara and leather upholstery as well as seat-depth adjustment. The seats are adorned by an RS logo and coloured decorative stitching in red or silver-grey. You can also find a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system running ŠKODA’s latest ‘always online’ MIB3 interface, plus a 10-inch Virtual Cockpit instrument display, adaptive cruise control, three-zone climate control, an electric boot, front and rear parking sensors and keyless entry.

Lenders typically pay a commission to us for introducing you to them, calculated by reference to the vehicle model or amount you borrow. Different lenders may pay different commissions for such introductions; some lenders may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement, all of which are set by the lender concerned. If you would like to know the amount of any remuneration we have received from the finance provider, please ask us.
