RAC Warranty at Johnsons Cars

Your Guide to RAC Platinum Plus Warranty

The RAC Dealer Network takes pride in ensuring all vehicles are sold in the best condition, however as a vehicle gets older, the risk of part failure increases. To give you extra peace of mind, we provide an RAC Warranty with every eligible vehicle.

What’s included?

We’ll make it clear what is and isn’t included in your warranty and if a problem occurs, our streamlined claims procedure is geared towards getting your vehicle back on the road as soon as possible.
All mechanical and electrical parts are included for failure to perform their normal function. Use the graphic below for a summary of what parts & features are included in an RAC Platinum Plus Warranty.

What is RAC Warranty?

When buying a used car, van or motorbike you can often be left without the same reassurance that comes with buying a new vehicle with a manufacturer’s warranty.

The RAC Warranty offers the guarantee that should something go wrong with your vehicle, you can receive hassle-free repairs at no additional cost.

Pick a term that’s right for you

The graph below shows how the risk of repair increases during the vehicles lifetime.

We understand that not everyone’s needs are the same, that’s why we offer a variety of warranty term durations up to 36 months. Ask your dealer for more information about increasing your warranty term.

Platinum Plus also includes:

  • a limit of £50 (including VAT), or one hours labour (whichever is lower), for diagnostics in the event of a valid repair request
  • failure due to carbon build up/carbonisation
  • wear and tear coverage for components that have reached the end of their normal working lives provided the vehicle is less than 8 yrs and/or 80,000 miles at point of claim

A summary of exclusions

Warranty does not include items claimable under the manufacturer’s warranty. Total aggregate claims value cannot exceed the purchase price of the vehicle. Other exclusions and limitations apply, which are provided in the full terms and conditions document (available upon request) and included on the schedule document.

Just so you know…

Depending on the warranty you have, you may need to pay to diagnose the problem.

If you have a Platinum Plus warranty:

For valid claims, we’ll cover up to £50 including VAT, or 1 hour’s labour (whichever is lower) to diagnose what’s wrong.

If you have a Platinum, Gold or Silver warranty:

You’ll need to cover the initial diagnosis. Prices can vary by garage so always check how much it’ll cost first. And have a look at your Ts & Cs to make sure any work required will be covered.

Why RAC Warranty?

  • No excess to pay
  • Aggregate claim limit up to the original purchase price of the vehicle (individual claims limits apply)
  • Maintenance while the vehicle is being used in Europe for u to 60 days in any 12 months period
