2019
2019 started as we meant to go on with the opening of our
new SEAT showroom in the Wirral, offering an amazing range of both new and used
cars, as well as state-of-the-art servicing facilities to keep your car
operating at its best.
In September, we acquired four Volkswagen dealerships from Sytner to extend our offering in the Midlands, as well as expanding with this manufacturer into the North West for the first time. These new dealerships are in Liverpool, Stafford, Stoke-on-Trent and Warrington.
2018
2018 was another exciting year for Johnsons Cars Group as we acquired new locations and even new brands into the franchise at our FCA Brand Centre.
As we took on the new site in Swindon, it allowed us to expand our Alfa Romeo and Fiat offering, as well as beginning to sell the almighty Jeep.
Alongside this, we have strengthened our offering in Gloucester by opening a brand-new Mazda dealership in the second quarter of the year. Our Volvo dealership in Gloucester also found a new home in a state-of-the-art showroom that further helped us to improve our offering within the area.
In the north, we opened up our first ŠKODA dealership in the Wigan area, making it our third across the franchise, which has therefore allowed us to increase and improve our offering for this dynamic manufacturer.
2017
2017 was a very memorable year for the Johnsons Cars group with four new acquisitions, including the launch of the very first Volkswagen retail store in the UK, at the Bullring shopping centre.
Co-funded by the manufacturer and managed by Johnsons Cars, the new Bullring store launches a new shopping experience for customers in a relaxed environment, where customers can browse as they would in a shop, and seek advice from our expert team.
To further strengthen our presence in the Midlands, we acquired three dealerships from the Chambers group – a Mazda and Hyundai dealership in Tamworth and our very first Ford franchise located in Sutton Coldfield. Ford is one of the most recognisable brands on our roads, and we are extremely excited to be able to showcase heritage and welcome them to Johnsons Cars!
2016
2016 saw the launch of our new Hyundai dealership in Slough, firmly cementing our place on the Slough Trading Estate – especially as it’s located next door to our Honda franchise! This state-of-the-art dealership allows us to showcase exactly what the South Korean manufacturer has to offer.
As well as adding to our portfolio in Berkshire, we acquired our second SEAT franchise and further strengthened our position in the North West with our dealership in Preston.
2015
In 2015 we acquired Volkswagen Willenhall (authorised repairer). We’re proud to add this dealership to our portfolio of Volkswagen franchises, allowing us to increase our presence in the Midlands across our five locations: Birmingham, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield, Tamworth and, of course, Willenhall.
2014 marked an exciting addition to our growing network and was joined by Johnsons Abarth in Solihull offering the latest generation models and a diverse range of Aproved used models.
2013 proved to be another exciting year for Johnsons Cars. The brand-new, purpose built Johnsons Hyundai dealership in Liverpool marked an exciting addition to our growing network and was joined by Johnsons Cars in Knowle, Solihull – offering an extensive range of pre-owned cars from a wide range of brands, sourced from with the Johnsons family of dealerships.
Later in the year, Johnsons SKODA Birmingham and Johnsons SEAT Liverpool were opened, offering a full range of new and used cars from these popular brands.
In 2012 Johnsons Cars proudly expanded further and acquired dealerships for Hyundai, Alfa Romeo and Fiat as well as becoming an authorised Saab repairer. All in all, a good year for Johnsons Cars.
At the Beginning of 2010, Johnsons Cars acquired two new franchises Mazda and Mitsubishi Aftersales with the addition of two further Volvo dealerships in new locations in Oxford and Swindon.
