Standard Plan for vehicles aged 0-15 years old

With a Standard Plan, your vehicle receives the recommended service from Volkswagen and highlights any extra work needed to keep it running at its best.


What's included:

  • Services including engine oil and filter changes
  • 1 Pollen filter replaced when required
  • Inspections to the components recommended by Volkswagen relevant to age and mileage
  • A diagnostic check for any software updates
  • 2 MOTs* free of charge for cars aged 6 – 15 years only

* Please note that in Northern Ireland, this product covers 2 MOT pre-checks and the cost of 2 MOT tests.

Service Plan Plus for cars over 1 - 15 years old 1

The Plus Plan ensures your vehicle gets the recommended service from Volkswagen plus a few extra items that older cars may need to keep it running at its best.

  • 1 Air filter change if required
  • 1 Spark plugs / Diesel fuel filter change if required

What is a Battery State of Health Check?
In just 30 minutes during your Inspection Service, we assess your battery’s current capacity compared to when it was new—much like monitoring a smartphone’s battery over time. You’ll receive a certificate confirming your battery is performing above 70%. If it’s below, we’ll carry out a detailed diagnostic at no extra cost. And with Volkswagen’s 8-year/100,000-mile battery warranty, you’re covered for any necessary repairs or replacements if capacity drops below 70%. Click here for more information on Battery degradation.

Plus Plan tyre replacements
Electric vehicles can be more demanding on the tyres than petrol or diesel models, so the Plus Plan offers two tyre replacements, on a like-for-like basis (same brand and type, subject to availability). Replacements can be arranged at a UK Authorised Repairer during workshop hours. 

What’s excluded:
Additional items identified during the service due to wear and tear, and any other items that are required a mileage or time interval.

Plus Plan - Tyre exclusions:

  • Wheel alignment or geometry checks.
  • Additional tyres beyond the two included in the  plan.
  • Mobile fitment (except where offered by Authorised Repairers)
  • Emergency tyre replacement (out of workshop hours)

What type of service do I need and when?

When to get a service very much depends on how old your vehicle is and how much it's driven. We offer fixed or flexible servicing, so you can select the service that suits your Volkswagen best.

Fixed

If you select fixed servicing for the first three years of ownership, your car will require an anaul service inspection and oil service. For cars over 3 years old, we recommend either an oil Service & Inspection or oil Service & Inspection with Supplementary Scope.

Recommended if...

  • You drive fewer than 9,300 miles per year
  • Mainly drive in the city, or if you make frequent short journeys
  • Often carry out hill climbs, towing, and driving with multiple passengers.

Flexible

For longer distance driving, we recommend a flexible service plan. Your Volkswagen's service light will tell you when you need to book your car in.

Recommended if...

  • Regularly drive more than 25 miles per day
  • Regularly drive long-distance
  • You drive at a constant speed with a minimum vehicle load.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if I miss a service?

If you miss a service, one of your Volkswagen's existing problems may go unnoticed, which could cost more in the long run. And your service book won't be stamped, which would eventually affect the sell-on price.

How often do I need a service?

You need a service every 12 months or 10,000 miles. If your car had a major service last time, you'll need a minor service this time and vice versa.

Why is your cambelt important?

Your cambelt works to keep your engine synchronised. Because it's made of rubber, it weakens with age and mileage and, if it snaps, the damage can cost several thousand pounds. So it is important to get it replaced upon a recommendation.
