After many successful years of trading, it is with regret that we announce the closure of our site at Dorridge, Solihull. We will close our doors for the final time on the 31/8/23. This does not in any way impact our other 58 Johnsons sites who will continue to operate as normal with 16 Franchises across the West Midlands and England.
We would like to thank our loyal customers for their business and support over many years and are pleased to advise that no job losses will result, with the team joining other businesses within the Johnsons Group to continue their career.
The decision has not been taken lightly and has been made in consultation with the manufacturer Stellantis, who are the parent company of Fiat, Abarth, Alfa Romeo and Jeep. With the planned arrival of new vehicles, Stellantis has decided they will require separate facilities for each brand and regrettably, due to the physical size of the site we are unable to expand the premises further.
During this period of transition, we will of course honour all existing new and used car orders and ensure handovers and deliveries are handled in the normal professional manner as well completing any service and repair work that is already booked in. As a courtesy, in the next few days you will be contacted by a member of our team if you have a vehicle on order or a pending service booking.
If you have any query or concern in the meantime, do not hesitate to contact our FCA team on site on 01564 731531 for Sales and Central Contact Centre for aftersales on 01527 583000. The Sales team will remain present on site till the 30/9/23 to ensure a smooth transition and make any final vehicle deliveries.
Going forward, we will retain our much larger FCA dealership at Swindon which represents the 5 brands – Fiat, Abarth Alfa Romeo, Jeep and Fiat commercial vehicles where we will continue to operate a full sales, service and parts operation. They remain on hand, for both the supply of New and Used Manufacturer Approved vehicles as well as servicing and repairs. They can be contacted on 01793 680480. For Sales, we will be offering national deliveries from this site.
For customers in the local area, who require servicing or repairs, we will continue to operate a facility within our existing Volkswagen Workshop site at Highland Roads Solihull where our FCA technicians are transferring. This is just off the A34 Stratford Road in Shirley. We would be delighted to welcome you to our VW showroom and offer free collection and delivery to your home or workplace and/or a courtesy car. To make a booking contact our Central Aftersales booking team on 01527 583000. We will also be able to carry out any Johnsons EMAC service plan work.
Unfortunately, as we will no longer be an Authorised Repairer, we will no longer be able to carry out FCA service plan work, New or Used Car warranty or Motability work. Stellantis will be in touch with you directly to advise you of details your local Authorised Repairer.
We would like to thank you again for your custom and remind you that Johnsons Cars retain a very strong presence across the West Midlands. Within our portfolio, we have a multiple range of other mainstream and premium brands, including Volkswagen, Mazda, Volvo, Skoda, Suzuki, Hyundai and Ford with a wide selection of both New and Approved Used cars – petrol, diesel, hybrid, plug-in hybrid or 100% electric. We are a credit broker and not a lender. We can introduce you to a limited number of lenders and their finance products, we act as their agent for this introduction. We are not an independent financial advisor; we will provide details of products available. We may advise you on the products, subject to your personal circumstances, though you are not obliged to take our advice or recommendation.
We do not charge you a fee for our services. we will typically receive commission from whichever lender we introduce you to (either a fixed fee or a fixed percentage of the amount you borrow).
Unless we consider it to be inappropriate given your personal circumstances, for certain vehicles e.g. New, our approach is to introduce you to the lender who are usually able to offer the best available package for you, taking into account interest rates, residual valuations (where applicable) and other contributions. If they are unable to make you an offer of finance, or the vehicle is not one that we would normally place with them we will introduce you to other lenders on our panel. The lender we introduce you to and available rates will depend upon a number of factors including: the vehicle, your personal circumstances and the likelihood of a lender to accept an application based on information provided.
Lenders typically pay a commission to us for introducing you to them, calculated by reference to the vehicle model or amount you borrow. Different lenders may pay different commissions for such introductions; some lenders may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement, all of which are set by the lender concerned. If you would like to know the amount of any remuneration we have received from the finance provider, please ask us.
