If you’re a fan of compact SUVs that have a little bit extra with their own crossover flair, then you’ll be very pleased to hear that the Volkswagen T-Cross is on the way. It sits below the larger T-Roc in the Volkswagen line-up and also shares a lot of mechanical similarities with the Polo supermini – when you take a closer look, this model is only 54mm longer and 97mm wider than the standard Polo. You will also sit 100mm higher in the T-Cross than you would in a hatchback.
It has a strong feel to it with its chunky wheel arches, tall bonnet and boxy profile, all of which have been designed to give this model a more prominent presence in the SUV segment. Its 385-litre boot space ensures this model has room for whatever your heart desires, especially when you slide the rear bench seats forward, expanding this space to 455 litres, and if you drop these completely it will give you 1,281 litres of space to utilise.
The interior also takes inspiration from the Polo with its central touchscreen on the dashboard, providing you with access to all of the car’s functions, and to suit your preferences you also have the choice between a 6.5-inch and 8.0-inch display. This will allow you to truly access everything you need at the simple click of a button while you’re on the move.
Volkswagen are set to release the usual specifications when the T-Cross arrives earlier next year. They will start with the entry-level S models and move up through SE, SEL and R-Line trims so, no matter what your specifications are, you’ll be able to find your perfect model. Each model will come with alloy wheels, blind spot monitoring, Bluetooth, air con and four USB charging ports as standard. Optional extras include: phone charging, adaptive cruise control, keyless go and a stunning sunroof.
If you’d like to be one of the first to take this exciting new model for a test drive when it arrives at your local Johnsons Volkswagen showroom, register your interest with a member of our team today.
