Volkswagen Golf GTE was awarded with the prestigious Green Apple Awards at the Houses of Parliament in London. Voted by the experts from the Midland Group of Motoring Writes, the model succeed in its class (electric hybrids or pure electric vehicles) as well as being named Green Apple Champion 2015.
The cars performs on a combination of petrol engine and electric motor, returning up to 166mpg, and CO2 emissions measured at just 39g/km. The innovative plug-in hybrid has already scooped a series of prominent automotive industry awards including the Green category in the annual BusinessCar Fleet Technology Awards. By touching the ‘GTE’ button, the electric motor and 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine combine to deliver a 0-62 mph time of 7.6 seconds and a top speed of 138mph, where the law permits. When fully charged in all-electric mode, the model has an electric range of up to 31 miles. 1,600 rpm can be achieved when the maximum torque is of 350 Nm. When electric and petrol combine, the total range is 580 miles.

Lenders typically pay a commission to us for introducing you to them, calculated by reference to the vehicle model or amount you borrow. Different lenders may pay different commissions for such introductions; some lenders may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement, all of which are set by the lender concerned. If you would like to know the amount of any remuneration we have received from the finance provider, please ask us.
