At Johnsons Volkswagen in Birmingham, we were delighted to bring along one of our new Volkswagen ID.3 models to try out the first electrical vehicle charging point at the Edgbaston headquarters of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC). The all-electric ID.3 was a fitting ‘first vehicle’ for the charging point – as the inaugural model from Volkswagen’s new electric ID sub-brand.
We are proud members of the GBCC, a leading business support organisation with many years of history and success. The Rolec EV charger was installed by fellow members Eviva Services. Electric car users can now benefit from super-fast charging at Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce’s.
Shakir Whayeb, Director of IT and Central Services at the Chamber, recently told Chambers Link magazine: “I’m delighted to see our first customer being a valued member of the Chamber, Johnsons Volkswagen, with this new ID.3 vehicle”.
Mark Woodhouse, Brand Manager at Johnsons Volkswagen Birmingham, said: “It’s great to be a partner with the Chamber of Commerce. The timing with the launch of the new iconic ID.3 couldn’t be better, as the built carbon-neutral 1st Edition starts to land at our Volkswagen retailers throughout the Midlands.”
Discover the Volkswagen ID.3
Billed as Volkswagen’s most important model since the Beetle and Golf, the ID.3 blends electrifying performance with futuristic design. This characterful five-door EV boasts powerful rear-wheel drive, instant response and 310Nm of torque, plus a low centre of gravity that offers a truly engaged drive.
The ID.3 is the first model to arrive on the VW Group’s MEB platform – an architecture designed specifically for electric powertrains. But even more importantly, Volkswagen has announced that the ID.3 has been created net carbon-neutral, the first mass-produced car in the world to make such a claim.
